How can the holidays be offered at such prices?

Tyrolean Adventures Limited is a small family run company that has no wish to greatly expand therefore I am able to keep my overheads to the absolute minimum.  I have also lived in Austria for the past 7 winter seasons, gaining the trust and friendship of many people in the village of Hochfilzen enabling me to gain superb discounts that are not normally available.

Why have I not heard of your company?

I rarely advertise again to reduce overheads but mainly I depend on 'word of mouth'.  75% of my clients return and normally persuade family or friends to accompany them.

How long is the journey?

The coach generally leaves Calais at midnight and arrives in Austria just after lunch.  The coaches are normally restricted to 40 persons to allow extra room.  They are spacious and comfortable but a pillow is advised.

What is the area like for Skiing and Summer activities ?

Skiing

The resort with the most reliable snow conditions in the Tyrol, with 25 lifts and 65 km of well serviced pistes - from runs of deep snow to nursery slopes and racing courses - and access to Schneewinkel extensive ski area (62 lifts, 150 km of runs).  For the Nordic skier there are 53 km of well-prepared cross-country trails, the site of the Biathlon world championships, world cup and several other championships.

The ski areas of Fieberbrunn and Hochfilzen are within a 15 minute drive of the hotel and receives/retains far more snow than its neighbour Kitzbuhel.  Fieberbrunn has a vertical drop of 1220 mtrs and recent investment into the ski lift system covering 65 km of un-crowded piste all adds up to an area offering great skiing and snowboarding (the ISF's Lord of the Boards is held here annually and has a superb floodlight half-pipe) for all standards.

The beginner and intermediate skier is well catered for on both slopes and will find no shortage of challenges in the area.

Ski passes for the Schneewinkl ski area which covers 10 mountain ski areas including Kitzbuhel, St Johann, Waidring, Fieberbrunn and the Pillerseetal are provided.  Ski instruction, the only extra cost, can be organised with the local Austrian ski school for as little as £10 per day, based on a 6 day booking

Summer Activities

In summer Hochfilzen has an extensive network of well marked hiking paths, ranging from easy walks on flat terrain to high-alpine mountain tours.  Included in your summer package will be:

  1.  A full day visit to Austria's highest mountain Grossglockner plus a visit to Saalfelden for a bit of shopping on your return to the hotel.

  2. Visit Hall and the Swarovski Crystal World.

  3. Salzburg and Berchtesgaden including the salt mines is another full day excursion.

  4. The 2000m high Wildseeloder can be experienced and a chance to para-scend instead of walking.  A BBQ will finish off this day in a local restaurant.

  5. Live music in the hotel.

  6. Go-karting for adults and children.

  7. Children's evening in Fieberbrunn where the entire town provides stalls and stands for them while adults can enjoy a drink in the outside bars.

Every guest will be given a special pass that gives them free entry to all the swimming complexes in the area, mini zoo, children's fun-fare, crazy golf and use of ski lifts
